So: I didn't get the job at Marshall. Instead, I took a job at a new bike shop in North Hollywood called Metropolis Transport. It's a pretty wacky place. We sell coffee and tea, unprepared. What does that have to do with bikes? Nothing, and that's the point. ...Right?
Anyhow, I've been working there since July, and overall it's been going very well. The place has a lot of potential to make a lot of money, and I've been fortunate enough to be involved from (pretty much) the very beginning. We have good days and bad days. On good days, I fantasize about buying in when we expand and end up an owner of a successful business before turning 25. On bad days, I ask myself why I'm not doing anything with this goddamn degree in Physics. Why am I changing tires on a bike instead of crunching numbers for another zero at the end of my paycheck? Today I looked up grad schools in the area. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
In other news, I'm learning some new instruments, and re-learning one old instrument. Stay tuned.
