Sunday, June 5

So it's been a while since I last posted on here. For some reason I feel more guilty about not posting with each passing day, which then makes it harder and harder to post. You know what I mean.

Anyhow, the Tektronix 556 Dual-Beam Oscilloscope pictured above was one of my acquisitions at Einstein's Attic back in Ithaca, NY. The reason I'm posting this picture is because I'm interviewing at Marshall Electronics out here in LA later this week. If they offer me the job, and I choose to accept, chances are good that I'll be using an oscilloscope similar to this one. The only difference is that the one I'll be using will be about the size of a tissue box and almost as light, whereas the 'scope in the picture weighs in at probably 100 lbs and is the size of a mini fridge. It also needs an ungodly amount of power to run and, as one of my old roommates used to say, begins to smell like "science" after a while. I love it.
